Solio — a boutique growth marketing consultancy, built lean and shipped fast.

Kristin came to me at a familiar moment. After years of working inside other people’s agencies, she was finally going solo.

She had a strong point of view on growth marketing and a clear vision for Solio. The brand itself, though, was still just an idea that needed to become real.

What she needed was a brand and one-page Webflow site that could launch fast without feeling rushed. Polished enough to earn trust from day one, but flexible enough to evolve as the business grows.

Solio design brief and content framework

Discovery and website messaging

I started with a discovery session to clarify the core foundations of the business. This included defining Solio’s goals, audience, positioning, and overall direction. These insights became the foundation for both the brand direction and the website structure.

Project goals included:

  • Designing a brand identity that communicates clarity, speed, and premium expertise

  • Positioning Solio as a trustworthy, high-impact partner for resource-conscious startups

  • Attracting early-stage clients looking to scale quickly and efficiently

  • Differentiating Solio from traditional agencies and solo consultants

Next, I created a website content framework based on landing page best practices and competitor research, giving Kristin a clear starting point for writing the site’s copy.

Defining the visual direction

I created a set of simple moodboards to explore potential visual directions for Solio. These were informed by competitor research, Kristin’s brand inspirations, and the overall feelings we wanted the brand to convey.

Together, we defined Solio’s personality as confident, efficient, warm, energetic, and strategic. The goal was for the brand to make the audience feel relieved, trusting, and empowered. Visually, Solio was positioned as a lean, premium boutique with a tech-forward execution. It needed to feel bold and vibrant, and stand apart from the overly corporate look common in traditional agencies.

After reviewing the moodboards, we pulled the strongest cues from each direction. The key elements that stood out were the orange color palette, a more tech-forward logotype treatment, an italicized serif headline style, and a simple, sun-inspired logo mark.

Designing the brand logo

From the start, I knew Solio’s logo needed to feel tech-forward, distinctive, and timeless. After exploring a wide range of logotype treatments, I landed on Covik Sans, a typeface with the right balance of edge, clarity, and character.

The sun and arrow logomark was created using a glyph arrow included in the Covik Sans font family. The concept behind the mark comes from the name Solio, a nod to “sol”, meaning sun in Spanish, inspired by Kristin’s move to Puerto Rico and her transition into a solo chapter. The upward, right-facing arrow represents growth and momentum.

The result is a logo that feels confident and scalable. Credible for enterprise conversations, but still approachable for early-stage founders.

Designing the brand system

Building on the visual direction defined in the moodboards, I selected a font pairing of Plus Jakarta Sans and Roboto Serif Italic to balance clarity with personality.

Plus Jakarta Sans serves as the primary typeface. It is clean, simple, and highly legible, working well for both small body copy and large, bold headlines, while reinforcing Solio’s tech-forward feel.

Roboto Serif Italic introduces contrast and character. It adds a more premium, expressive tone and a subtle sense of warmth, while still feeling modern and appropriate for a technology-driven brand.

The color palette is anchored by a deep blue base, paired with a sunshine-inspired primary gradient. A vibrant peach accent adds energy and warmth, while a soft pink background helps keep the overall system feeling light and approachable.

After some exploration around the supporting graphics direction, I introduced line illustrations to reinforce the bold, vibrant personality of the brand and help it stand apart from more corporate competitors. These are supported by a set of modern, minimal icons used to communicate Solio’s key differentiators and pricing packages.

Bringing it all to life

With the logo, core brand elements, and messaging in place, the focus shifted to designing the website experience. The initial direction leaned slightly understated, but after a quick review and strong feedback from Kristin, we refined the approach and landed on a final direction that felt more aligned with Solio’s personality and goals.

Once the design was finalized, I moved straight into development using Webflow. The build process was fast and efficient, allowing me to share a live preview the same day. From there, I completed development, quality assurance, and launch within just a couple of days.

Subtle interactions, such as a shrinking navigation on scroll, were added to give the site a more polished and dynamic feel without introducing unnecessary complexity.

The final website feels premium, cohesive, and lightweight enough to evolve quickly as the business grows.

From process to results, in Kristin’s words

“I was looking for a polished website that could be executed quickly without sacrificing design quality. I’m an early-stage business and know I’ll iterate my website a thousand more times, so finding a web designer who could build for where my business is today and also be my go-to in the future was really important to me. Tordis was exactly what I was looking for.

The entire process was seamless. His discovery intake form was thorough without being overwhelming, his tech stack is modern, and the design process was extremely collaborative. I’ve worked in marketing for a long time, and this was one of the only creative deliverables I’ve been part of where I had almost no feedback. We also went from finalized design to developed site to QA and launch in about two business days.

An idea that had been floating around in my head now looks like a legitimate brand, all thanks to Sean’s design direction. The branding and overall website experience he created is better than what I’ve seen from other agencies who have been in the game far longer than I have.

Sean is one of the best designers out there. His quality of work is unmatched. In a world where AI is making a lot of design look the same, Sean has built systems that allow him to work fast while still creating brands that truly stand out.”
